The science lesson went well. We put the definitions on different colors of paper and taped them individually all over the hallways. The students loved going up and down the hall finding the definitions to the vocabulary. They actually wrote more down than copying from the board.
Yesterday we had them copy down the definitions of opaque, transparent, and transluscent. Then they had to sort a variety of object under the appropriate category. Did you know some CDs are completely transparent while others are opaque with the inner circle being transparent. They were quite noisy working in groups of 4.
